Hi,

I have a prebuilt system that randomly started freezing a while ago, last november'ish. I have followed all the guides available and have done scans, stress tests, checked for malware and over this time have bought diagnostic programmes to help.

Its a Lenovo build, so I've used the vantage software and diagnostics. Everything passes. CPU, GPU, RAM, everything. I did a clean fresh install of windows 11, but still the computer would freeze. The screen would freeze, mouse everything.

The lights in the pc itself would stay on with the fans still working but I have to hard reset by holding the main power button. I got so annoyed with it that I wiped the drive and did a clean install of linux mint just to see if it was a hardware issue or an os issue. It still froze.

Since then I have tried a few linux distros all with the same end result and now I have reverted back to a clean fresh install of windows 11. The problam is still annoyingly there and so I have joined this forum in the hope one kind. clever person can solve my problem. Any advice given is gratefully received, I'll try anything at this point!

If its hardware related where do i start?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Please include the model and SKU for your Lenovo prebuilt.

Where did you source the installer for the OS? Did you install the OS in offline mode?

Thanks Luttfj for the edit and post. I apologise for the wall of text. I am new to this.

I just checked my orders page on the site where I bought it from and thry have it listed as:

Lenovo Legion T5 Gaming Tower 26L Desktop PC (Intel Core i7-12700F, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6, Windows 11 Home)

Apologies for the bold text but it was copied and paste and I dont know how to change it!

Erm, sorry for being a bit thick but I dont know what a SKU is! I googled it and it mentioned something to do with stock levels! It was purchased in 2022.

The install I did was from a bootable usb and it was the current Windows 11 version that is on the ms windows site now. It was offline until it asked me to enter my details during the setup phase of the installation, user email, password, internet etc,.

All the Linux distros were installed from bootable usbs and were offline until completely installed at which point I entered my details for online access to see if updates were available.
