Hi guys. I had a problem with my computer freezing for a few years now. When it freezes i get an insane loud sound from my speakers and all i can do is a hard reboot. I have switched out every part but my powersupply. Can that really be my problem?

my motherboard is ASUS M5A97 R2.0, Socket-AM3+ with a AMD FX(tm) 8350 8 cores.
GPU: Geforce 1060 6gb
Ram : DDR3 1333MHZ 16GB 2X240 DIMM MEM UNBUFFERED 9-9-9-24 XMS3 HEATSPR IN
my psu is Coolermaster GX 450W
edit: 120gb SSD + 240 gb SSD

Is your processor overclocked by any chance? Do the freezes occur, during intensive tasks like gaming or can they also happen when idling?

my last reply got delayed due to a freeze, so they can even happen when just browsing the web. There is no real consistency in the crashs other than they normaly comes in pairs. If i have 1 crash ill have another 10-15 minutes after reboot. Other then that there can be days between them.

Edit: And NOT overclocking

I'd suggest buying a corsair vs50 power supply, they are not the best (or even good) but mine works just fine for me. It only costs about a 40 bucks which is quite cheap. If that doesn't help it is most likely a motherboard problem or a cpu overheating to an extreme point

Yeah ill probably go buy a new PSU. Have you ever heard of a bad psu having that impact before tho? normaly i would assume a bad psu would shut down the pc insted of freezing it
