Computer freezes, screen turns black mid game. Nvidia Display Driver error message, CPU usage spiking.

Hey guys if you could take a minute to help me with my issue It'd go a long way,

Every 5 minutes or so my game will start to freeze, screen turns black, and the comes back on a few seconds later. Had performance bar in task manager up while this happened and was able to see my CPU usage was spiking a lot while I was playing the game. Is my CPU being overworked? One time after it did this a notification popped up and it said nvidia display driver has stopped working. It has done this for all the games I play and has become more frequent. Everything is updated on my computer and my hardware is only 2 years old. There's also just something off with my computer, I can't play battlefield 1 online at 60 fps even with low graphics, I get random errors like "DIRECTX function failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, GPU:NDVIdia Driver 37570".


SPECS: Nvidia GTX 750 ti driver version 381.89, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460CPU @ 3.20 GHz 15.84 gb ram, currently running windows 7 64 bit.

Very recently. I'm all up to date on gpu driver.
