Computer freezes, then restarts while playing Archeage.

So I've been playing this game since beta with no problems, other than the FPS wasn't exactly the highest but I wasn't complaining. I upgraded my graphics card and that definitely helped but it was still a little choppy at times BUT it still had no problem at all. I had been playing the game for a week and it had no problem. Just today I went and bought another 4gb stick of RAM just to help boost it and it did. For about 15-20 minutes then froze and restarted my computer. And it did so every time I tried re-launching the game. I've shut the computer down and only ran it with the old ram and it worked fine never restarted, then I did the same thing again but with the new ram this time, and it restarted. I also tried swapping slots with the ram just for shits and giggles, didn't do anything but I didn't really expect it too. I also tried just simply launching Chrome with both of the RAM sticks in and it never restarted. They're the exact same stick so that's not the problem. I have no clue what it could be so any help would be wonderful.

Before you even start running your computer after adding memory, you should let memtest86 run for a few hours (5+ passes) to see if your new memory is good and your memory configuration appears stable.

If your computer was stable before adding memory, you may have a bad bit in your new DIMMs or some other memory-related issue.

Doesn't look like it, check each in CPU-Z (free app) in the SPD tab is a Part number pane that should be filled with the sticks part #

At least this tells you there is no fundamental issue with the memory itself.

You might want to check your CPU/GPU temperatures while gaming or running other workloads just in case.

Another thing to try would be Prime95 or other synthetic "burn tool" to see if you can get your PC to crash or the tool to report errors.

In the somewhat far-out-there category, it could also be a power supply issue: if your PSU was just barely stable before adding the DIMMs, the extra 4-5W from the DIMMs combined with potentially slightly higher peaks from the CPU and GPU due to slightly improved memory performance might have pushed it over the cliff. In this case, you should be able to get your PC to crash fairly quickly with Prime95 + Furmark.

The temps are fine. And I have a 500W, I know that's not incredible but I'm sure adding another stick of RAM isn't going to cause my whole computer to crash and restart while playing just this one game. And what would using this prime95 do? I'm just curious because I have it open and I think I started testing it but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Edit: Oh and another thing to add, now every time it restarts it goes to this blue screen (not the blue screen of death) it's like a Windows 8 looking screen and it has an error code for me to search and it's titled "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" And yes I do have Windows 8. Not sure if that helps in anyway but yeah just thought I'd like to throw that out there.

And what would using this prime95 do? I'm just curious because I have it open and I think I started testing it but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Prime95 mostly used here for stress-testing the CPU and memory.

As for your memory management error, that could be an issue that memtest86 and Prime95 failed to catch or it could be that something on your system did not like the change in installed memory. You might want to consider a clean re-install on a spare drive to test that.

For the PSU, even high-quality units can have defects or have operating ranges where they may have quirks so unless you have a (very-)good PSU, it can still be worth considering - if your PC can run Prime95 fine but crashes with Prime95 + FurMark, this does hint at a potential PSU issue.

How do I do that? I know you have to access the BIOS but I've never really toyed around in there cause I'm not a huge fan on breaking computers...lol.

Edit: Okay I think I may have increased the voltage by .06 so I'm gonna try and see if it's fixed I'll update this when I figure it out.

Okay so all that did was make it so I couldn't even launch the game. Like the splash screen comes up and then just sits there. The voltage was at 1.50 and now it's at 1.56 so, any other suggestions.

Edit: Okay so good news I changed it back to defaults and now the game won't even launch when everything is back to normal. So you know that's great.

Try them at 1333 10-10-10-27 1.56 and raise CPU/NB voltage to 1.25, this might work, these are some older model PNY sticks

Not really surprised since that is exactly what default values are meant to do: provide the best interoperability possible by using conservative values wherever possible.
