Hello
I5 6600k
Z170a
16gb lpx Corsair vengeance
Seasonic gold 750w
2x Asus 760 GTx
Bought a new mobo as my old one died. Computer would boot and was fine when I installed this new board... however after a few hours it froze up.rebooted and it continued to freeze upon logging in. I removed both gpu and computer then worked fine. Put gpu into first slot and issue came back; put the gpu into second slot, issue disappeared.
Began to run the system with one gpu and again after a few hours, began to freeze. Removed the gpu from the bottom and it worked fine for a bit (no gpu at all) and again few hours in began to freeze. Ran Windows memory test with 0 errors. Also tested both sticks of memory and the same issues were occurring. Last time computer froze I rebooted and at this point it won’t even post. Everything runs, fans etc but no post or anything and a solid red light on dram.
Could this be another mobo issue? I had bought a used one. Or could this be a cpu issue now? My understanding was if it didn’t pass post, it was usually a cpu issue.
Just to note, all I was doing during this time was organizing music so nothing cpu/ gpu heavy.
any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you
