Computer freezing and shut down due to unstable power

I recently moved (temporarily) and my computer has been freezing and shutting down sometimes. I think it's the power here because when I plug it in at some of my friends houses it works fine. I bought a ups to hopefully get better power to my system. Unfortunately the problems still persist. Any ideas?
