I am having random freezes on my computer for a really long while now. This freezes are totally random. Sometimes they will happen 20 times a day and sometimes it will happen once in three months. The computer is completely unresponsive at that state and needs a hard reset. Here are some additional details:
- It is not a driver or software issue because it does it on Windows, on Linux, on Safe mode, even on bios.
- Sometimes when it is frozen, after hard reset, the bios won't start no matter what I do. The only way to start the computer at that point to plug out and in every cable or wait approx. 15 min. before switching it on.
- Even so rarely (happened three times till now) it gives an overclocking fail notice, even I don't do any overclocking.
I know it is not the graphics card or the hdd ( I changes them during that time). The problem seems to me caused by the PSU but I just wanted to be sure anyways before buying a new one.
I have ASUS M2A-VM motherboard with AMD AthlonX2 processor and 6GB Ram installed on it. My graphics card is NVIDIA Geforce GT 630 2GB (Asus) and my PSU is Everest 300W.
