Hi. i've been having some random freezings for a while now. My pc just hangs and the audio sometimes studders on the note it was playing. When i ran a SFC it came back with "i can't do this", when i did a chkdsk on boot it went to BSOD and when i activated verifier it just went to BSOD when i started windows. When i tried to use the build in windows function to reinstall windows and clean the drivers it came back with another "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that".
(I'm honestly amazed that so much could be broken and all i had was random freezing every 2-10 hours)

I just did a format c and reinstalled windows. First time i downloaded a lot of stuff, including geforce expirence, as soon as it was back up, and i was back to freezing again. I then did another format c and reinstalled windows, this time i did not install Geforce Expirence and just ran with the build in windows driver and all was good.

But a gamer cannot live with standard graphics drivers so i installed geforce expirence and i'm back to random freezing once every whenever my computer feels like it, although much less then i had before i reinstalled windows.

When i look in the event viewer i see no errors when the crash occurs, but it does keep listening as i get a kernel error when i push the reset button.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how to fix your issues but here is a popular YouTube tutorial that might help with your driver problems.

My parts are:

Motherboard + CPU: ASUS M5A97 R2.0, Socket-AM3+ with a AMD FX(tm) 8350 8 cores.
GPU: Geforce 1060 6gb
Ram : DDR3 1333MHZ 16GB 2X240 DIMM MEM UNBUFFERED 9-9-9-24 XMS3 HEATSPR IN
PSU: Coolermaster GX 450W
HDD: 120gb SSD + 240 gb SSD

I got a G12 gaming keyboard and a Zelotes 12 button gaming mouse plugged in, a 360 controller and 2 monitors - but i've had the freezes with only one active monitor.

the PSU and the 120gb are the oldest component in the computer, every other parts have been switched since the original build.

Have you updated your motherboard to the latest BIOS and all the latest drivers? Asus released 18 BIOS updates for this motherboard and most of them were to "Improve system stability".

So i can just add to the problems that when my nvidia drivers are updated my 2nd screen turns purple ONLY when i duplicate - if i, with the driver installed, use extend or only 2nd monitor i have no problems. With windows default driver i can duplicate as well without any problems.
