I've had issue with my computer for about a year now. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kJBMjc . It randomly freezes mostly when gaming but at other random times new. It could freeze after 5 hours, I reset it and it freezes within 5 minutes again. I would not think its software as I have installed windows with only steam, and battle.net and it froze with only those software. I noticed I had two DOA ram sticks, replaced them there good now. I also replaced my cpu, didnt do anything.I got a new motherboard as asus said my cpu pins were bent. That didnt do anything either. One of my It friends thought that maybe since my Z170 doesn't "support" 2133 DDR4 that I should try something like the 2400 since its "supported"? Also I sent in my motherboard because my temps were hitting 100c within 10 seconds of prime 95, getting a new motherboard fixed my overheating cpu now after running stress test it never goes over 80c. Which is what I thought was causing the freezing.

1| Have you made sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?

2| You should've gone with a DDR4-3200MHz ram kit since your platform will allow you to go that far.

3| Your friend has misinformed you. The Z170 platform supports DDR4-2133MHz and above. The Z270 chipset supports DDR402400MHz and above.

4| You may also want to pay attention to the installation of your CPU on the baord since the bent pins mentioned by Asus can cause system's to not boot at all or worse. So you should inspect the CPU socket on the motherboard for any bent/broken pins.

5| While you're at it, you may also want to see if the system freezes when breadboarded.

Bios is up to date.
I was careful to install the cpu,and the pins were not bent when it came in. Since my overheating cpu isnt an issue I would think the pins are not bent.
