Computer freezing when playing games

My computer is randomly freezing when I am playing games like COD: Ghosts, Battlefield 3 and 4. I have ran Passmarks stress test app which completed successfully. I have also tried removing any programs that are not needed on the computer. Also, this problem started not long after upgrading my computer (I upgraded the CPU, PSU, motherboard and water cooler). My specs are:

FX 9590 5.0Ghz
Nvidia GTX 770
Corsair 750w
Corsair H100i water cooler
Kingston 120gb SSD
Seagate 1tb HDD
Asus M5A99FX
8gb 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM

I am unable to move the cursor or interact with the computer in any way once the computer has froze. Last time this happened I had MSI Afterburner running which said my CPU was currently at 65 degress c (which to me is fine).

Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for the response.

After checking the bios it says

cpu temp 41c
mb temp 30c
vcore temp 1.5v
3.3v voltage 3.264v
5v voltage 4.992v
12v voltage 11.994v
VDDA2.5v voltage 2.508v
cpu fan speed 2272 rpm

btw i have not overclocked any of my components.

I'm at university at the minute and therefore dont have spare components on me or a screw driver lol. I'm fairly certain the CPU and water cooler work well together. I checked online before buying to see if they were compatible.
I understand what you mean with this cpu. I brought it because of its performance and price. I was fully aware that it required good cooling.

I may have to wait until I get home to take the computer to pieces and re-build. I also have some spare thermal paste which I can apply (not sure if it will make a difference tho, but wont hurt it).

Thanks anyway.

This has happened with me on several occasions, I believe your problem is really a tough one, I went through a lot of trial and error and weeks of frustration till i figured out what caused my problem.

I can tell you that when it happened with me it was caused by usb connections.

Try checking if you have the correct drivers for your usb ports and google to check and see if other people have had problems with their computer freezing when they connect the same mouse/keyboard or any other device connected to your usb ports.

A damaged video card or ram is also a possibility.

Good luck.
