Computer freezing

I was getting blue screens for a while so I decide to do a whole system recovery with the disks from HP. I thought this would fix the problem but now not only do I get BSOD but my computer tends to freeze every now and then. I ran a memory test and everything is fine with memory. I ran a hardware test and also says that there's nothing wrong with hardware. I've been trying to get my computer back to normal for more than a wk but Im not that much of an expert myself. Is there anything that I could do to fix this issue? Or should I just get myself another computer. I really need to fix this issue before next month because Im supposed to start school online and a computer that doesn't freeze is a requirement. I am running windows vista.

If you have a desktop check if the power supply and cpu exhaust fans are working at the back of the system.
If they aren't or you can't tell turn off the computer and open up the case. Find all the fans in your system. You probably can't see the one in the power supply but the cpu fan should be obvious. If you have a graphics card it may have a fan. The front of the case may have a fan.
Turn on the computer and try to visually confirm the fans are running but do not touch anything while the computer is on.
After that you could try leaving the case off and see if your symptoms go away.

If you have a laptop look for a grated area on the case, typically on the left or rear. Feel if air blows out.

Are you doing anything specific when your computer freezes? Browsing, Flash, Movie, Game etc.

Thankyou for your response Unique, and sorry I didn't respond back until today. I actually did check the fans and they were both working fine. What I actually did to solve the problem was to disconect three of my memory sticks and that was the cause of my problems. Little did I know that there was something wrong with my memory. But I wonder why computer couldn't detect that I had memory problems.

Is it you memory or your motherboard? have you tried any of the three memory sticks in the slot that is working?
