Computer Fried

Hello, I've had my computer since Xmas of 2011. The other night, I thought I shut it off but it never fully shut down. Now I'll turn it on, it'll go to the black screen where white text usually appears, but only a white dash appears and it keeps blinking rapidly. I've tried cleaning it out but I think something must of fried. Any advice?

Try to startup in safe mode. May have corrupt file(S).

Shut down the computer and remove the power cord from the psu for 15min.

Reconnect the power cord after 15min.

If this does not work, referr to your computer systems manual on how to restore your computer system.

What version of windows is on your computer?

reset your bios/cmos, instructions are in your mobo manual

^ Agreed - Reset the CMOS. That's most likely your problem for whatever reason.

I had this problem before, i managed to get around it by holding the power button after start-up up, which cleared the cmos, use the reset button if you have it or hold power button

I would advise to shut down the system.
Reseat all power cables, data cables, and ram.
Power-up.
