Computer full freeze (no BSOD)

Hello everyone, so this problem just started happening today and I can't quite figure out what it's from; basically my computer will randomly freeze (fully, cannot move mouse), and then I'm forced to fully restart (cannot CRL+ALT+DEL).

Nothing new has been installed on my computer, except this morning when we installed a new router and I switched my networking card to it, otherwise I haven't installed or used anything new.

Some details about my computer:
Intel i7 3770K
One 840Pro SSD, main boot
One HDD (I cannot remember the brand name for the life of me)
Nvidia 780Ti
4x4 RAM

The PSU is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104097 and I purchased it in early 2013

As for my temperatures they are running normal (30-35C GPU, 30-35C CPU)

Hmmm, that PSU may be a little weak for a GTX780Ti. Allowing for 10% capacitor aging, the page at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine recommends 508W (I assumed three fans and one USB device).

I know it's not the best PSU for the 780, but actually while watching Afterburner and running BF4 ultra the power consumption isn't anywhere near the max, also I wouldn't think this problem would start several months after I installed my GPU? But again, I'm not a computer expert or even moderately good at computer hardware

Yes, the heat of running your PSU at a high percentage of its capacity would have contributed to the capacitor aging. A reduction in peak output due to capacitor aging would explain your symptoms. Does it lock up only when playing games, or also when surfing or doing office-type work?

Oh okay, but it usually happens with running just chrome, I'm running a memtest currently

Does it happen in the middle of a game? If not, it could be a great big crawling cockroach in Chrome.

I ran prime 95 for an hour, and no freeze, then downloaded Firefox and froze

I've done a full virus and malware scan and nothing came up; I've tried Firefox (froze) Chrome (froze), IE (froze), then I ran Sims 4 (didn't freeze until I exited), ran League of Legends (didn't freeze either), I've tested using Prime95 for an hour no freeze, ran 3 passes of memtest86 no errors, I've done sfc /scannow and nothing came up, while typing this it did not freeze but it froze while browsing to the forum. It unfreezes now after about 3-4 minutes, but still this is extremely annoying

I don't have CC Cleaner installed, but I did just see that after one of the freezes I got a "Display driver Nvidia 344.11 has stopped responding and has recovered", so I'll look into that and hopefully that is the cause of this

Oh okay, then I have no clue, I haven't gotten the freeze since the last post and I've been doing random things to try to see what the cause is... I'm lost as to what could be causing this, since I've tested the PSU possibility and malware and RAM

Thank you, but I've already looked through startup and tasks, also I've noticed every single freeze has had some sort of interaction with the internet, and I did change routers and setup this morning... (I tried installing a game via Origin to test and it freezes constantly, otherwise if I watch netflix it'll freeze every once every 10 minutes)

I assume it'd be the network cards driver, because it still causes an entire system freeze

Edit: I've updated my network card drivers and am now attempting to get another freeze

In Firefox, turn OFF video hardware acceleration. See if that helps. I believe there is a similar setting in Chrome, but I'm not sure where it is.

Yup looks like Chrome can crash because of hardware acceleration. Dont use that myself. Its too intrusive. And doesnt have a lot of options in it

if you still see a graphics screen, then the system is hung in the graphics driver.
if your keyboard has a indicator light for the caps lock, or numlock key hit then caps lock or num lock key and see if the keyboard BIOS is still responding.
The LED will turn on and off when you toggle the caps lock. If this is the case and the keyboard BIOS is working
you can find out the cause of the lockup.
1. change you memory dump to a kernel or full memory dump (make sure your page file is set to twice the size of the amount of physical RAM)
2. run verifier.exe and set up debugging flags
3. set your system registry to force a memory dump from the keyboard.

You can google for how to do each of these if you want to.

most of the time the lockup is caused by:
1. overclocked GPU (remove software overclocking) (or overclocked cpu or PCIe Bus in BIOS)
2. GPU high definition sound support conflicts with the motherboard sound controller
(use control panel to disable the GPU high def sound support if you don't get sound via your monitors and your video cable)
3. Some SSD drives have firmware bugs and can cause a lockup like this but I have not seen these in a while (over a year)
4. if you installed updated the GPU with the same brand, go to the BIOS and update it or disable a hardware setting and enable it.
this sounds stupid but the BIOS builds a database of hardware that it sends to windows. You want the BIOS to rebuild that database.
It can be incorrect because you turn off the power when you put the new card in and the BIOS might not detect the change if the new card is from the same vendor. BIOS update or set to defaults will also rebuild the database and fix various pesky configuration issues.
