Greetings. I just made an account here since I had no luck with microsoft support and another. I apologize if my English is difficult to understand, but I'll do my best to explain my trouble.
On March 17 I had a random blue screen of death while working. It wasn't under a lot of load, just running second life and photoshop. The stop error was PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. When the PC rebooted, I restored it to a previous point, ran Windows memory diagnostic with no problems reported on the RAM. I also ran CHKDSK and nothing showed up. I haven't had a BSOD ever since.
However, a week later, on march 25, I left the computer running while I went away to run some errands. It had firefox open with a couple tabs and a paused video. When I returned, I found that the system was frozen the time on the clock had also stopped to the moment when I assume the freeze happened. I could still move the mouse around, the pointer had changed to the loading, spinning wheel and it changed back to the normal pointer while hovering over the task bar, but I couldn't click on anything, the keyboard was unresponsive as well. I had to hard reboot the computer with the power button and it worked flawlessly again.
Now, last night I was again using the computer and I noticed the program I was running (Second Life again, since it's what I use the most) froze, I could click on some other stuff briefly, but ultimately the entire computer froze again with the very same symptoms described above.
More info: ever since the BSOD, I notice that when I'm shutting the system down for the night, it will usually go to the shutting down screen, then it will say "Closing 1 app and shutting down" The app is unknown, as it has no name and what I assume is the default icon. It does proceed with shutting down after a second or two. But last night, I also had task manager running while shutting down, so, it also showed up with this unknown app. I was curious enough to click stop and it sent me to a black screen with the task manager running. I closed the task manager and nothing else happened, so, I had to hard reboot the PC.}
So, here's my system's specs, if it's of any further help.
