First of all, I apologize if this problem has been solved elsewhere, but I did a search and came up with nothing. Probably because it's a little hard to describe.

Basically after I don't use my computer for an extended period (sorry if that's vague, I don't know exactly how long I have to be away from the keyboard for the problem to manifest, probably an hour or more) everything goes haywire. Buttons will start going off randomly, even though I'm not touching the keyboard or mouse. After a few seconds of this, the computer promptly shuts down. When I restart it, it works fine.

This has happened intermittently over the past six months, but it was so rare I didn't think much of it. Now, it has been happening multiple times per day. Windows is updated and I've done scans with Norton and Malwarebytes with nothing to report. As far as I know, all my drivers are in good shape too. A month or two ago, I switched over to a SSD and did a fresh reinstall of Windows. I don't think that had any effect on the problem, because it's only started to get bad over the past few days. I haven't made any other major changes to my system

I should also mention that sometimes when I go to start my computer up the fans will run for a few seconds and the lights will turn on, then it will shut down. After a few more seconds, it starts back up again and everything runs fine. This started a month ago when I installed the SSD. I don't know why it does this, or if it's even a problem, but everything else was running fine so again, I didn't think much of it. Maybe the two are connected?

Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
8g RAM
Intel Core i5 2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560
Asus Motherboard P8 Z68-V Pro

If I'm missing anything, let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Whats the make and model of the PSU? I have seen unstable PSU's cause similar issues. I have also seen bad keyboards cause similar issues aswell.
It's an Antec 550BP plus. If I recall correctly I got the cheapest one I could find that fit my needs. I built this rig two years ago, so maybe I've running the power supply too close to its limit for too long?

I forgot about this thread, but I solved the problem. After screwing around with my peripherals for a while, it turned out to be the keyboard. I reinstalled drivers and the software and it hasn't happened since.
