My computer was recently bumped (slightly) while running, and then showed me a "Locking..." error screen followed by a shutdown. It attempted to reboot itself, but said "No hard drive detected."
I haven't had any success booting it, or swapping the hard drive to another system. It appears dead in the water.

The chassis has been bumped many a time, so I didn't think this could have hurt it so bad. Maybe this was the straw that broke the camel's back?

Is there a way to find out what's going on with the drive, or has anyone encountered that "Locking" message before? this is driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance y'all...

Swapping a hard drive into another system is problematic. Not working at all being one common result.....

Update your post to include full system specs and OS information.

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Check that all outside connections are fully and firmly in place.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify by sight and feel that all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and inside case connectors are fully and firmly in place.

Use a bright flashlight to inspect for signs of damage.

If you are not comfortable with opening the case, etc. then find a knowledgeable family member or friend to help.
