Computer Hanging, Makes No Sense

So I have a.... peculiar problem. Often when watching videos and playing games the computer will completely hang - the screen will freeze, cursor in place, as if it was just a still picture. The audio usually turns into a buzz sound, but sometimes the audio will come out distorted and in slow motion when the hang occurs. If I leave it for a few minutes, everything goes back to normal. No error message, nothing. Now the peculiar part - it only happens in my house. I noticed while in College this problem somehow ceased to exist. Yet it reappeared the instant I went home. Laptop is Asus, core i5 running windows 7.

What in the world could make something like this happen?

Gonna bump this, could it somehow be related to the wireless internet?

Well could be the internet at home.
Though its strange if it is. Where do you have it at home? I would think maybe its more of an issue that its over heating at your house.

Ive checked the heat whenever it happens, and it is never any higher then it is anywhere else.
