Computer has large vertical bar down one part of it

Hey everyone so a year and a half ago my gf at the time bought be a benq monitor and about 3 months later I powered it on and a large bar was on the screen. After that we had a falling out and I just now got around to pulling it out and I think I might be just past the warranty so if anyone wants to help me out I'd appreciate it.

Not sure if there is much you can do at this point. This is one of those things that you can't really fix yourself.
I would say it could be a defect in the VGA of your computer, however your computer isnt even hooked up to the monitor so I have a feeling the monitor is just broken.
