Computer has power but won’t turn on

Hi guys so I’m not a builder or anything like that I have done in the past but don’t dabble no.
So I’ve just installed windows 8 on to my pc it’s been working fine for a week.
I went to turn it on this morning and it won’t switch on power supply light goes orange then green for a couple seconds and then that light goes off. I try to turn it on and it does absolutely nothing I’ve taken case off to check the buttons their fine I’ve checked all wires and connectors are attached and clean on the mother board and also changed the fuse in my power supply still nothing.

Please can someone help me!!

There can be many problems associated with this. Either your power supply or motherboard may be malfunctioning. Considering that the light does turn on, I assume nothing like that happened. But the windows 8 you installed might have something to do with it. If you have another PC to test it in. Go ahead and check if the hard drive is okay. The one that the OS is installed on. And connect another HDD to your pc and see if its turning on. If it is, then you have to reinstall windows after uninstalling it from your HDD. Check if it helps.

Hi I tried a different HDD Still the same I think it maybe the power supply as the green light on motherboard doesn’t stay on unless I fiddle with it and then I try’s to boot up
