computer heath question

I was wondering if it will hurt the health of my computer to pull the big thick cord (120V cord I think) out of my psu to shutdown my computer?

Last time I did it when I started up windows it said that I had some that needed to be fixed. Also I went from +.080v to +.090v to keep Bf3 from stutering.
