computer in the last couple of days is very slow and not responsive

in the last few days my computer has been running like a turd. all my drivers are up to date and all my software is up to date as well. my computer will spike in hdd %. im running in windows 10.
btw. and all games are now running in low fps.
specs:
cpu:i7 4790k
gpu:sapphire r9 280
16gb of ram
os: windows 10 coming from windows 8.1

Did that happened AFTER you upgrade to Win10?

P.S.
Its ALWAYS better to clean install a new OS... and not upgrading from a previous version...
That way, the new OS does not "carry" with it the old problems... and does not create new problems as well (software incompatibilities, etc)...
