Ok, so I finally received all my parts and started to put together my system with the below parts:
CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor ($161.99 @Newgg)
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler ($21.63 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Silicon Power GAMING 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($68.47 @ Newegg Sellers)
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($154.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card ($239.24 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.79 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair RM650 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($92.43 @ Amazon)
Monitor: Asus VG245H 24.0" 1920 x 1080 75 Hz Monitor (Purchased For $0.00)
A few odd things happened. As I was lowering the latch to secure my CPU in place, I heard a crack and then I realized the edge of the CPU clamp caught the edge of the CPU case and then nicked it as I was closing causing the result of the first photo. The surface of the CPU case feels flat and the CPU cooler went on fine, I think it's superficial and nothing to be concerned about.
My next issue is bizarre, I plugged in my motherboard 8 and 4 pin CPU power which is in the worse possible spot being in the top left corner and then I routed the wires behind the case and when I went to plug into the PSU, one of the plugs fit but the other one doesn't fit anywhere. It comes in two parts, I tried splitting it and putting it together but no matter the combination it doesn't fit into any PSU hole. I'm trying to use the plugs marked for CPU but it's not working. What is happening is the clip is not lining up to the hole in the PSU and catching the wall of the PSU. What am I doing wrong here? I've included some photos.
