So theres some pretty strong winds right now that caused a power outage, and instantly shut down my computer. This has happened to my desktop about 4-6 times since january and i want to know if my computer instantly shutting off like this will damage it? It is equivilent to holding the power button to shut off a computer. Again, this has happened 4-6 times since January. This has happened during gaming too.

Solution
You'll want to get an UPS then, a unexpected shutdown can damage some of your components. If power goes out and comes quickly, a small UPS will suffice.
Try checking your proc's temperature. If it going high constantly try to replace its thermal paste. If you still experience that problem after replacing thermal paste maybe your power supply has the problem.

Thanks for the response but its none of my components that are failing, its the actual neighborhood power going out which causes my computer to shut off instantly. I would just like to know if this is damaging my computer? It doesnt happen often, but its happened a few times this year
