Hello everyone, over the past 2 days my computer has instantly shut down twice, straight to black, with no warning, both times mid GTA 5 heist. In all honesty i know nothing about computers to define what exactly is the issue but most people say it could be the CPU. I can supply you with specs etc if needed, hopefully you can aid me on this issue. Also to add, A few months back the same thing happened after my pc had been on for 20+hours mid battlefield 4 game. To further develop when i open HWMonitor it says my CPU is about 50 degrees and my GPU is 45 degrees, although these readings come from hours before the shut-down happens. Hopefully you can help

Solution
Yes, ideally.

XFX, Antec, Seasonic (and also other versions of EVGA) are much more reputable.

Get one which is at least 80+ bronze certified. Your build should go for a 500-600W one.

If electricity is very expensive for you though, get something above Bronze. Such as silver or gold.

If you get a fully modular one, you'll also have less cables to deal with.

Solution
It's a very plausible reason for the shutdown. It can naturally be many things, but the PSU, which delivers power to everything,

is one of the most obvious places to look first. Especially when you don't get an error code, which might point to a different cause.

As I posted, you can refer to this excellent list.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

So try get a Tier one or Two PSU in the 500-600W range.

Depends on your budget.

It can easily get very expensive, but people will always say never skimp on the PSU:
