Computer/ internet question

Hello,
I have three computers for my family 1 is upstairs which is our main computer with our router & modem on it. I ran 1 Ethernet cable to my downstairs is there any adapter besides another router like to plug my 1 cable into and have 2 outputs to plug internet into my 2 other computers without running another wire to my basement (which is a pain).

You can get a small switch to split the ethernet signal. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=30&name=Switches&Order=RATING These things are so cheap now, and almost all have excelent reviews, just pick one that matches your sofas or something.

Is there a specific reason why you aren't using wireless? I'm not judging you, I'm just innocently curious.
