Computer is a bit laggy

Ok, so... I've had my pc running for quite a number of hours.

uTorrent is a bit busy (just added a few downloads). I have Excel, Chrome, Zonealarm running, and watching a video appears to be a little on the laggy side (audio considerably noticeable).

The only thing thats different than usual is that I added a few new downloads to uTorrent, but NXT Cam shows the load on the cpu and ram is only at around 40% with barely any load on the gpu. Temps on the cpu and gpu are around 40 degrees.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit on an i7-4790K (not overclocked) with 16GB DDR3 ram and a GTX970. I do have the K-Lite codec pack installed btw.

The obvious conclusion is uTorrent, but as my cpu only shows 40% load, I'm a little lost... Does it matter that the majority of files being accessed (downloads from uTorrent, the video being played, the excel file) are all on the same drive?

At the time of writing this, uTorrent is downloading around 10 files at an average speed of around 1.5MB/s and I'm pretty sure I've ran this kind of setup before with no problems...

My internet hung so I had to restart the pc - couldn't stop uTorrent to do a test but I'll keep that in mind next time I guess.

Anyways, no more lag issues. Just bothered me why I would have to restart after a couple hours of usage if there wasn't much load on the cpu or ram? Is this just a ram/apps issue?

As mentioned, all files were running from the same HDD (including the video file). When copying files to and from the hard drive, I think I get around 70MB/s so don't think its a disk IO problem.
