Hello,

I feel like my computer is being used by someone.. why? Sometimes it automatically starts shutting down, goes to standby mode, browser opens up automatically, calculator opens up automatically, start button pops up.

I have no clue what to do or how to stop this but its seriously annoying and risky too since i have alot of personal stuff on my pc. If its someone i really want to get rid of him already or if its some kinda virus please help me with that too.

Thank you in advance <3

Solution
well...to be honest, clean install is always a permanent solution...but its not always convenient to do that, due to watever reasons(time crunch/lack of backup/etc)...
u can start with malwarebytes and mse(microsoft security essentials)...these two actually work very well in tandem...do make it a point to deactivate defender if u use mse, as they cannot work simultaneously...
if that doesnt work, then simply do a fresh install...and make it a point to install ur antivirus right after the windows installation...
Well that's not good at all.

First things first, download this:

https://www.malwarebytes.org/trial/

And then this:

http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-home-trials/total-security

Install both and let them update, then restart in safe mode without networking support.

Go through Malwarebytes clean and disinfect process first, and then Kaspersky's full system scan and repair.

Hopefully it will solve your issue, and then I recommend backing up all of your important data on a separate drive and doing a clean, fresh install of your operating system.

I kinda have to disagree with geekwad. Fresh install is where you need toSTART. f you have been running around without knowing what you are clicking on. With no security software. To the point you think someone has direct remote control. You're DONE.

No amount of rudimentary instruction is going to fix it. Or guarantee you're safe. You need to completely wipe your drive and reinstall Windows . With all patches and actual security software. THEN do some education

I know, I know.

I just recognize that if there are pictures, videos and other memories unbacked-up in the drive that it is painful to make this call. Trying to clean, quarantine, wipe, and then remotely quarantine and disinfect is the only hope for sensitive data.

@Jan3s, I should have mentioned that IF it was at all possible to just start over right away......it really would be the safest thing to do.
