I just got an ssd and wiped the hdd to serve as the mass storage and I can not boot the pc with the ssd while the hdd is plugged in. Previously it was because of boot priority now it's just because the computer crashes before getting past Windows 7 logo.

Additional specs
CPU: i5 2310
Os: Windows 7 64 bit
Motherboard: asus cm6630_cm6730_cm6830

Edit: thanks for trying but I've been getting a blue screen right after the logo. The last time it happened I ran the repair option thinking it wouldn't help much but it said it found the problem, whatever it was it was fixed.

I guess it was a Windows issue.

However I have another question regarding my ssd. During launch up it is limited to sata 3 while it most certainly should be 6. Is it possible for a bios change in the settings or an update that can fix it?

Solution
Press F8 on boot up. The select the option "Disable automatic restart on system failure" then it should give a blue screen. At the bottom it should say

STOP CODE 0x000000XX where XX should be a number letter combo. Post back what it says
