Computer is lagging when connected to TV with HDMI cable

Hello,

I have a HP Pavilion DV4-1030en. Specifications:

Intel Centrio 2 2,00GHz
4GB ram
nVidia 9200m GS

So, these are giving the main performance to my machine. I have also a nice Samsung D5000 TV (32") FullHD. When I connect my Laptop with a TV, computer start lag. It even doesn't use all of CPU (20-25%, while playing 720p video in TV with 10 fps (Fraps)). I've all latest drivers and everything should work. Using Windows 7.

Are you using HP drivers or one's directly from nvidia.com? I suggest you use the nvidia.com drivers (if not using), like these if using 32-bit:

Or these for 64-bit:

I'm using the latest drivers from nvidia.com site. Same version as in your links is already installed.

Windows is fresh. Installed like few days ago,some 3rd party applications are installed, 32bit.

Change your desktop to a Windows 7 Basic theeme vice an Aero theme to see if that helps. Also, what application are you using to display video?

VLC Player for avi, mkv files. Flash for Youtube ones. Latest flash has a hardware accleration support, so it should manage to play it..

Are you connecting at 1080 or 720 to your HDTV?

1920x1080. It is the recommended resolution.

That is a lot of pixels for an older mobile GPU. What is the native resolution of your laptop display? I assume video there is ok, true?

1280x800. Strange is that @ work I have 8500GT and it runs two 1920x1080px monitors w/o issues.

Yes, everything is fine in laptop display.

The 8500GT is actually a "stronger" GPU than the 9200m. Try dropping your resolution and then try it. I would even suggest 1280x800.

I set output to 720p (less than my laptop display) and I have exactly the same performance, maybe a lil bit better, but issue still exists..

Are you driving both the internal and external displays at the same time -OR- just one of them at a time?
