Computer is turning off since I got an upgrade

I upgraded my desktop a few months ago. I got a new graphics card (NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 650).
I also got a new power supply Thermaltake 600w. It had a warranty and I didn't want to break it so I paid Best Buy to do it, to not void it. But since then my computer has been turning off after a few minutes. It turns off earlier if I watch a video or play any game. I talked to the people at best buy but they say everything is working fine and I can't seem to get anywhere with them. Any ideas?

If a system is shutting down when gaming, it's usually one of two things.

1. High temps - run hwmonitor and see what it is reporting for your CPU temps
2. Power supply failure - much harder to diagnose. What is the model number of your Thermaltake?

You can't reproduce the shutdown when you have it at best buy? If you run games there, it handles it?

I posted what showed up, and I can reproduce it once in a while. I have bad luck, sometimes I just stand there while my computer decides to mess with me. But it has reproduced the shutdown. They check the power supply and said it was fine.

I have all my drivers updated, it was the first thing I tried. When I mean my Computer shuts down, you can hear it shut down, the screen turns black, its as if its off but the lights on my case is still on.

Just the fact that the problem started when you upgraded (and you have all the latest drivers), makes me think it's your PSU not able to keep up with the new graphics card.

Thermaltake makes a few decent psu's, and a lot of really bad ones. Do you know the model number?

Do you have another PSU you can use to test? (I know most people don't) Or another system you can test the graphics card in?

PSUs can be really hard to diagnose.

I do but I can't change it myself without voiding the protection plan.

That is considered a tier 5 PSU

Tier five - Replace immediately. These units are NOT recommended for any system, no matter the purpose. Reference to higher tiered models for a better and potentially money-saving unit

Thank you, I didn't know that, Best Buy told me it was good so I trusted them. I will replace it as soon as I can and hopefully.

Sorry for not being able to give you the best solution, I miss clicked and gave it to someone else.
