When I try to play games my laptop screen will go pixelated and then freeze. I then have to hold the power button in to turn it off. New to computers and I don't know what is happening.

Games stress the CPU and GPU. If this only happens with games, I'd monitor the cpu and gpu temps that occur when you reproduce the problem.
I watched the temps this time, and both the cpu and gpu stayed at high 50s and high 60s occasionally. It still crashed after a couple of minutes. I don't know if this will help, but when it was starting back up it said repairing and scanning drive at the bottom of the screen.

I have tried again after not being on it for a few days and it said repairing disk errors. I watched the temperature again, and this time it got to high 70s for the cpu and low 70s for the gpu. I did another one after that and it got to 65 on the cpu and 59 on the gpu and still did the same thing.
