Hey,
I have a system running r5 1400, msi b350 gaming pro, msi rx480 8g, 4+8 gb corsair vengence lpx @ 3000mhz, a corsair vs450 psu.

My computer boots fine everything loads up just fine, but as soon as I run a game eg. Apex legends or run a benchmark like msi's kombuster, it crashes and the gpu's fans rev really fast. I have tried reseating the gpu rewiring all the connections, using ddu and upgrading and downgrading the drivers, reinstalling windows, but nothing fixes the issue.

One anomaly that I notices is that this doesnt happen when I run overwatch

Solution
Also, since then I haven't turned on my pc, fearing the destruction of some component, is it safe to run my computer normally, without playing any games?

A. Got anyone around whos GPU you could borrow and test and see if it makes a difference?
B. Disconnect the GPU and run on the built-in graphics and see how that works.

If either of the above removes the problem your GPU is faulty.
