Computer keeps dozing off every 30 minutes

My computer keeps going into a sleep-like state, but a keypress or mouse click wakes it back up instantly without the computer actually going to sleep. How do I fix this? Are there any programmes known to do this?

Dumb question - but you went into the power/sleep settings and changed the behavior there, right?

Haven't changed the power settings for months.
It just randomly blacks out on me whilst I'm still using the computer.

It shouldn't cut out while you're using it, but just to be sure, check your settings. I know Windows 10 likes to override those settings with updates, if that's the version you're using. (Every few updates, my one computer will go back to a "hibernate after ___ minutes" setting.)

No luck I'm afraid... I have to be elsewhere now; will have to look another time.
