Hi everyone,
Recently my Windows 8.1 computer keeps freezing at random points. I could be in the middle of a simple task, such as typing in my password to log-on but it stops responding. Just as I think something I have done has fixed it, about 5 minutes later it will stop working. I'm writing this on my old Windows XP computer, since the one with the issue persists to not respond. I have looked round the internet, and tried various different steps but I've come here as a second to last resort. I hope the community here will be able to help. So here's what I've tried so far:
1. Updated Windows.
2. Ran a Registry clean-up.
3. Booted into Safe Mode with Networking enabled, I updated all of the drivers that required updating but Windows still froze in Safe Mode.
4. Ran a full virus scan over a period of a day. The results came back as no infections located.
5. Ran a disk check.
After following all of these steps, I'm having no luck. I don't want to have to re-install Windows as that will cause a lot of issues.
I hope that the community here will be able to help, and if so, I appreciate it.
Thank You,
Sam.
