Computer Keeps Freezing for Short Increments

I'm running a fairly high end gaming PC, so it's not a performance thing. I believe I may have a virus of sorts, but I've run multiple scans from AVG and Avast and still nothing. Every once in a while, my PC will just freeze for about 4-5 seconds. The mouse then stops changing when scrolling over links, text, ect. And the freezing continues. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm starting to believe that it's a hardware issue now.. :/ A few times it's just stayed frozen, forcing me to manually reboot.

It's OC'd at 4.0ghz and Windows 7 64-bit.
I'll turn off the overclocking, but it's never ran hot, or had any problems in the past.

Did you install ASRocks XFast USB software? I had an issue similar to yours with my PC running slow. Loading windows and loading programs was extremely sluggish(using Crucial M4 256GB SSD). If you do have it installed, try removing it then see what happens.

i have problems like this with my crucial v4, but i kno its the drive once u start installing things on it the speed just tanks. it stutters and pauses when loading programs

I didn't have that program installed. :/ Still having the problem.. I THINK it's my GPU.. Gonna run some tests and see what happens.. HOPEFULLY it's not my mobo/cpu.

While you're checking your GPU, take a look at your RAM memory too. Take them out and see if there's a difference in performance if you use only 4GB, then 8GB, ...etc just to make sure it's not a faulty RAM.

Alrighty guys. I figured it out. None of it was a hardware problem. All that weird stuff that was happening was because of the latest GPU driver that I had installed. I had to get the last version. Sooo, if you're rockin a GTX 560ti, be weary of the Geforce 320.00 beta driver.
