Computer Keeps Inputting Periods

My computer keeps typing periods and I am not sure how to handle this. Originally I thought ti was my keyboard, the obvious culprit in this kinds of situations so I unplugged my keyboard. The periods kept continuing even without a keyboard plugged in. So far the only thing that has fixed this has been restarting my computer and that only works for a small amount of time. This is my 3rd time trying to write this thread because I keep having to restart.

I am running Windows 10. If you need any other information just ask. I am not sure what other info would be useful because I have never encountered this before.

Try a different USB slot. If that doesnt help try a new keyboard. Unplugging the keyboard may not stop a buffered huge number of key presses for a while.

I am confident it is not my keyboard. I've tried different USB ports. I've even restarted my computer with the keyboard unplugged the whole time and my computer keeps spamming periods.

Try updating your keyboard device drivers. This or get a keyboard remapper to shutdown the period key.
