Computer keeps rebooting itself when trying to play in 4k

I just got my new ASUS PB287Q 4k monitor today and I was so hyped to play 4k. Right now I have a 970 SLI build so I know for a fact that my computer was capable of doing a decent 40 fps on most games that I have. The problem is that whenever I try to start a demanding title in 4k (Witcher 3, Fallout 4, GTA 5), GeForce recommended settings or not, my computer automatically reboots itself. When I launch a game and it finally loads into the actual gameplay, i'll have a good 5 seconds to actually look at the 4k difference until my computer will just absolutely turn off for 5 seconds then reboot itself automatically. I'm just kind of pissed because I've been waiting impatiently for this monitor for 2 weeks with a PC that I know is capable of handling 4k but now every time I touch that resolution, my computer keeps shutting off on its own. Can someone tell me what's the problem? How I can fix it?

Its probably implied but does the PC play games fine at lower resolution?

What temperatures do you see on the CPU and GPU during idle and when trying to play a game?

Can your system handle stress tests on the CPU and GPUs at the same time? (WATCH TEMPS!!)

Try disabling SLI and remove one of the cards. Then try to play a game in 4k. The performance will be crap but just try and see if it works.

You could also check out the windows log files but I have no experience with that.

Well in 4k i cant really check any temps or other things because it crashes almost immediately as the actual gameplay comes up. In 1080p, though, it works absolutely fine but the 1st 970 is always at 80 never going up or down and the second is always at 69-72 but both at even load. I also used who crashed and I got a report saying

On Sun 12/20/2015 3:05:19 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: Unknown (0xFFFFF80076C2674E)

Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error.
