I built my computer last May and had a problem that my computer rebooted when playing high graphic games like pubg or witcher3. I checked HW monitors and the temperature and they were all low since it rebooted in like 2-5 minutes.

This was my build:
CPU: I5-8400
GPU: EVGA GTX1070TI
Motherboard: MSI Z370 Tomahawk
PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus 650w 80+ Platinum
RAM: G.Skill 16GB

I initially thought it was a PSU problem so I replaced it with EVGA G3 1000w. Then Pubg worked fine while witcher3 still rebooted my computer. My main reason building this pc was Pubg so I moved on.

But last week, all of sudden, the computer stopped working at all. EZ Debug light for CPU was on and the CPU fan and front fans were not spinning.

I went to a computer repair shop and he told me that it was a shortage on motherboard. He fixed it and I saw that it worked fine at his store and brought back my pc. But the computer didn't work. I went back to him and he did his work again and I checked turning on and off my computer five times. I brought back and it didn't work.

I tried my computer at my friend's house next door, thinking it might be my house. AND IT WORKED FINE! But still didn't work at my house. I replaced back the PSU to Seasnoic 650w and back to the beginning. The computer works fine except high-end games, which it reboots when playing them.

Long story short:
1. I built my computer but had problem of rebooting when playing high-end game.
2. I replaced PSU to 1000w and some high-end games worked fine. I moved on.
3. My computer stopped working at all.
4. The repair guy told me it was motherboard shortage. The computer worked fine at his store but not at my house.
5. I tried my computer at my friend's house and it worked fine just like at the repair shop.
6. I replaced my PSU to 650w and back to the beginning, at the very first stage. The computer works fine except high-end games.

Should I send my motherboard with warranty? Is there a chance that my motherboard was doa when I first received it? I looked though most of threads in the forum and tried many of advises but can't figure it out.

Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you for reading my stupid tiring 6 months story.

You may be dealing with two totally different issues there, although there is still a chance that in the end you may conclude that they are related.

1)For the gaming issues: Download the latest GPU drivers. If nothing changes, test your system with a different graphics card just in case the restarts are caused by a bad/failing GPU.

2)For the power issues: Try to use a good surge power strip or a UPS for your PC system and all your peripherals. They usually come with led indicators that will also tell you if the there is an issue (bad grounding) with the electrical outlet that you are plugging your PC into. Additionally you should have someone check the entire electrical installation in your house. If you have a problem there, your PC...

A backup battery like a UPS system should smooth out any electrical issues you may be having.
Or, you have a piece of equipment/gear that your using that does not go to the shop with the PC for testing, etc?

Finally if you still can't find the cause, your last remaining option is to RMA the motherboard and hope that a new one will fix those issues. Good luck.
