Computer keeps shutting down @ startup

I have a compaq presario sr1320nx that shuts off only seconds after starting up (Problem with fan- message says). I dont know if its the power supply or the CPU cooler fan (which does come on at the start before the computer shuts down). Which is causing the problem? There is a fan inside of the power supply too.

What is the maker and model of the PSU if you can find it written somewhere on it.

About how old is it?

Have you used any spray air inside the case and/or on the fans?

The motherboard has no way of knowing how fast the power supply fan is running. So the problem fan must be the CPU fan. Some CPU fans run too slowly when the heatsink is cold and so trigger the fan warning. Often it is possible to override the fan warning in the BIOS.

The computer doesnt stay on but 15 seconds, so I am unable to do anything nothing . Both fans run at the same time when turned on and both fans turn off at the same time. So I am unable to determine which fan is causing the problem.
