Computer Keeps Shutting Down Unexpectedly

Whenever i try to uninstall or reinstall programs the computer shuts down
and when i log back on this error message comes up saying windows has
recovered from a serious error. It even shuts down when im on the computer
for a certain period of time - about an hour or so. Can anyone help?

Yay it worked!
I started the computer in safemode, but it wouldnt let me uninstall
anything. But i tried system restore in safe mode then tried to uninstall it
normally not in safe mode, and it worked!
