Basic Description: Hey guys, I've recently noticed that my pc experiences some extreme lag when streaming. I investigated and found that my PC was suffering when I streamed with the nvenc encoder. I thought that this encoder was meant to have the lowest performance impact, but that looks like it's not the case.

Here are some images of me testing how many frames my computer could push out with each streaming encoder: http://imgur.com/a/EFPC5 (Done on steamVR performance test)

My x264 Settings: http://imgur.com/a/mbDUG

PC Specifications: Processor: Intel Core i7- 4790K 4.5GHz RAM: 16GB DDR3 memory 1333MHz Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB Motherboard: Gigabyte GA- Z97P- D3 ATX LGA1150 Operating System: Windows 10 (64 bit)

Anything I can do?

Nvidia shadowplay is your best option. Also depending on the game you play your i7 may be struggling to keep up.

That's my problem. When I use the shadowplay encoder to stream it seems to have a much higher performance impact on my system than the other encoding methods. I demonstrated this by comparing how many frames I could render using each encoding method with steamvr performance test. http://imgur.com/a/EFPC5
From what I've seen the shadowplay encoder should have the least amount of impact on the system.
