i'm currently using lg e2041t 20inch led monitor i'm going to buy a new 24inch monitor for my pc since i want to use the 20inch monitor can i use it has a tv with a dth connection..the 20 inch monitor has a DVI port ,VGA port and a power adapter
Well, then I see two options for you:
1. find a component to VGA converter box and see if it works with that monitor (you might want to make sure you can return it for a refund in case it doesn't work)
2. buy a small TV instead - if you're willing to look at refurbished and non-HD tvs, you might find one cheaper than the converter box.
With those connections, it will be tricky to use the monitor as a TV, because you'll need a converter box, such as this one: http://www.hotdealshop.com/html/productOverviewNew.aspx?prdId=27523FR071511
But from personal experience, I can tell you that boxes like this don't always work properly with LCD monitors (in early 2007, I tried to use some StarTech converter boxes to get signals from my video game console to show up on my Samsung 930B, but after having several issues with that, I bought a monitor with its own component and composite inputs, which worked a lot better).
Alternatively, you could get a TV tuner for your computer (I've read that the Hauppage TV tuners are popular, but I haven't tried them myself) and use the 20 inch as a second monitor that the TV tuner shows video on.
