My computer has been working fine, however out of no where it isnt letting me do anything.
It loads up fine, I can sign into my computer but when the desktop loads I cant click on anything? the mouse moves but is not responsive to anything on the screen..
Ive ran a virus scan in safe mode, and there was nothing, also my computer was working fine in safe mode.. =/
If anyone knows anything, thanks so much for your help or reading...
Hope its nothing too bad considering im currently writing my dissertation..

if it is running fine in safe mode then, dont worry its either a recent driver or program you installed.

try deleting the recent programme or driver you installed if you did
or secondly use system restore to roll back to a previous day and see if it still persists.

This is the third straight thread I've found with the same issue I'm having. It's related to the latest Microsoft update batch on Tuesday, 3/12/13. The following updates are in the patch:

Security Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2814124) 12.5MB
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 x64-based Systems (KB2809289) 27.0MB
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems 69.1MB
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2807986)
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - March 2013 (KB890830) 5.2MB
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.145.1873.0)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB2768024)

Going back to a previous restore point DOES work, however re-installing the updates again will make the computer repeat the same problems. I have no idea how to fix it or which specific update is causing the problem, and nobody else does as of yet.

To use System Restore

Before you start System Restore, save any open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your PC.

Open System Restore by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type System Restore, and then, in the list of results, click System Restore. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.145.1873.0)

Defender is only for Vista and Windows 8 (combined with MSE), you need uninstall it for Windows 7, even Microsoft recommend it. Use their MSE for anti-virus, it's free and works for Windows 7.
