My computer cannot stay connected to my wireless home network for very long, and when it is connected it has very bad ping in WoW/League (I've seen 4k ms). The router is on the other side of the house, and there are many walls in between my wireless network adapter and the router itself. I was planning on moving the router right next to my computer and using a hardwired connection. Are there any other, cheaper alternatives, or ways around moving the router where I can get a better connection?

Hi

Sometimes a powerline adapters can work if router/Wireless and room where the PC /Laptop is located are on same circuit.
(needs network cable connection at both ends)
.
You can get a paired powerline adapter + wireless access point so laptop does not need a network cable for connection.

Or Wireless repeaters situated half way between router/wireless and your PC

Moving the router/wireless near to your PC requires a telephone extension socket at the correct location.
(and may anoy other users who have their wireless signal cut)
