Im not a very technical person but i will do my best to give the best description of my issues... My computer keeps crashing when it is put under pressure e.g. playing games, it isn't specific to what game is played either. I have been led to believe it is a memory leak???

How could I confirm that this is the problem or if it is something else like my motherboard?

Thankyou for any help in advance

a memory leak is not a "under load" type issue - it will just crash.. irrespective.. but its easy to check.. just periodically check your comp mem usage.. if it keeps going up and up and up until 100% memory use.. and then it crash.. it a memory leak.
But yours sounds more like temperature thing.. under load.. it gets hot and blows up.. is it an old PC.. on the floor in a dusty area? dust can be a real issue. You can get tools to tell you temps of your CPU and graphics cards..
But if you not techie.. may be as a start.. just open up your PC and blow (don't use a vacuum cleaner.. use a drinking straw or something) and blow out all the dust you can see - from the CPU/grahics card areas if you know what they look like.. if you don't.. just blow it away from everywhere you can see it and see if that help.
