Computer messed up

OK it was just a normal day for me playing hearthstone on my computer. I decide to get off for a while. When I come back a couple of hours later the same day I see that my pc is in sleep mode so I wiggle my mouse and left click a few times. I hear sounds coming from the computer but there was nothing on my monitor. So I just shutdown my computer and turn it back on again and I get greeted with a blue screen that said it was resolving an issue and it restarted the computer when it was done. When the computer was back on my resolution changed there was no icons on my desktop except a few random pictures and my mouse want working. How do I get more computer back to normal?

It could be a hardware or software failure but have you tried doing a system restore to a previous date/point?
