Computer messing up

So our family computer started messing up really bad, I think its corrupted or overheating.
Basically what happens is that when its turns on there are red lines everywhere and black semi circles too. Its a window vista. Any way to fix this?

Could be the monitor going or the graphics card. Do you have a spare monitor to test?

PSU, video cable, could be lots of things, start by trying monitor and cable on another rig - if no problems, then you've eliminated those items, then try GPU in another rig, etc
