[SOLVED] computer monitor problems

my old dell computer monitor from the year 2006 has been doing some strange things, the buttons on the monitor don't work, and every time my computer goes into power save mode the monitor just shuts the power save light turns on for a second but then it shuts off like the power went out or something, I have to unplug the monitor and plug it back in to turn on normally, it didn't do this until now please help

It may be time for a new monitor my friend.

the monitor is working better now I realized it was a bad power supply cord the buttons work fine (kinda) I think the power supply cord went bad is because it was twisted in an odd position for a long time.
