Hello today I swapped from an i3 to an i5 Intel - Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

My motherboard is a Asus - B85M-E/CSM Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
My graphics card a EVGA - GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card

When I boot up now everything initially seems to turn on, however gpu is not providing a screen. It boots initially with the fans turning on, but then they turn off and my screen doesn't register my PC. I thought I had made sure everything was compatible? Please advise! Also let me know if I can provide more info I'm stuck using my phone so this might not be as lengthy as it could be.

can you put back the i3 and update bios? it seems that you need a newer bios to support that cpu you bought

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85ME/HelpDesk_CPU/

it says that you might have the original bios and that bios doesn't support your i5, does support the i3 but after the i3 bios there has been at least 8 new bios supporting more cpus

Did you update the bios before installing the new cpu? Put the old cpu back on. Go to this site and download the proper bios for the cpu. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85ME/HelpDesk_CPU/

Then install the bios. you can get the instructions on how to do that in the motherboard manual which you can also download from this site.

Oh and don't forget to use thermal grease on the cpu.

I'm on mobile so this doesn't want to let me answer as a proper reply to you. However I thought about that before upgrading, per the answers I received in the linked thread I thought I was running the right version. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3466054/updating-bios-b85m-csm.html#xtor=EPR-8809

However, that being said I did swap back to the i3 and it's still not registering anything. So I'm wondering if I may have bumped something while removing my heat sync?

I am using thermal paste. It's just weird if I bumped something that it would act like it wants to boot but the GPU isn't participating

Checked my ram, it seems okay? I didn't really touch it while swapping things. No broken pins I can see?
I'm wondering if I broke my MB? My USB ports don't seem to be powered when I boot.
I've had some one suggest it could be my power supply? I'm running a Antec True Power Trio TP3-550 550W ATX12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply with Three 12V Rails? I don't think 550 is too little though?
