Computer Not Booting In New Case

Hello, I'm having an issue with my new case.

The case is a Corsair Spec 02

My motherboard model is MIB75R/MH_SG

My rig booted up just fine in the previous case but when I moved it to the new case it would turn on for 3 seconds then power down.

The motherboard is not fried as I moved the mobo back to the old case and it worked just fine

I've screwed the standoffs in all parts of the mobo.

The case has stripped standoffs, I covered them in electrical tape in the event that was causing a short.

Both fans are connected and powered.

I tried putting mobo ontop of cardboard incase it was touching the case or there was a grounding issue, nothing.

I've reduced it down to two possible things, the case is defective or my mobo isn't compatible with the mobo.

Tried changing outlets.

All components are set up correctly.
24 pin connector is in
CPU connector is in.
Ram stick is in.
Hard drive is connected.
Power button is connected.
Fan is connected.

One thing I've noticed is that the power button connector on the new case has 9 pins and previous case had 11 pins.

Before you say it's a hardware issue, its not otherwise it wouldn't have booted in the old case.

did you check that the pinout match's? sounds like the pinout doesn't match and there is something constantly connecting the two power pins together hence the 4 sec shutdown.

The pattern matches there's just an additional two at the end on my socket

yes but does the actually pinout match? are the power wires actually lined up with the power pins on the motherboard, does the two resets switch wires line up to the pins on the motherboard.

just because the connector fits does not mean the wires are in the right spots on the connector

Hi,

I'm this is my first time installing a mobo so excuse my confusion.

the reset switch are the cables that have HDD LED, POWER LED +, -, etc. correct?

If so are those the cables that power the case or am I confusing these with another cable.

Also for the reset switch cables my manual doesn't have a diagram as to where they should be plugged in which isnt any help.

Its on page 14-15 on the manual i attached in the original post if you would like to see.

ok yes on the case you have have a bundle of wires labeled as "power SW", "HDD LED", "power led +", "power led-", and "RESET SW"

these are the wires that I think are causing your issue (one or more are not connected to the motherboard correctly)

I have to ask can you post a pick of your motherboard connector and the connector on your old case (showing the wire colors) ill try to help you to get it correct

this seems to be a typical 9 pin plug for intel dell motherboards. you might have to rotate the image to show the missing pin matching your missing pin. but without pictures from you this is what I would recommend you hook your wires up as. (as your motherboard the missing pin may be on top so its prob easyer to flip your motherboard to look like the picture then hook it up that way.
